Paula Waddington

Paula has worked in the Health & Care sector for over 30 years, starting her career as a carer with a Local Authority.

Paula knew as soon as she started that this sector was for her. She worked for over 20 years with the LA and ended up as Project Manager for Leeds Community Service which delivered over 35,000 hours of care to vulnerable people in their own homes. Paula went on to set up her own business which was very successful in supporting people and helping them to live independently. Paula later went onto work with larger independent providers and latterly working within the residential sector.

Paula has extensive knowledge and experience supporting a wide range of customers from the elderly, Learning Disability, children, Mental Health and people with physical disabilities. Paula has strong leadership and management skills overseeing large geographical areas and multiple sites, she has a strong belief that quality and people management need to be the priorities with any business.

In Paula’s last role as MD she was involved in a large acquisition which was a huge success. Following on from this, her main focus was compliance, reducing agency usage across 17 services attaining a 50% decrease, increasing occupancy levels, all having a very positive impact on the financial performance of the business as a whole.
Paula acted as liaison officer between services and 88 local authorities and commissioners to novate existing contracts and in turn raising the profile of business.

Paula believes that the strength of the team is predicated on their knowledge and experience which will be a real benefit for any organisation experiencing shortfalls within their business.

Paula knows that “people work for people”. Get the right people in place and the business runs itself.
